High temperatures, adverse conditions: Special lubricants are at home in the border zone of tribology
Special lubricants satisfy exceptional requirements to a very great extent. Where the emphasis for “normal” lubricants is for continuous product quality and a constant and reliable performance, with special lubricants the focus is on particular uses at the edge of their capabilities.
Special lubricants cover the lowest range of possible working temperatures as well as the upper range. As a result, they provide not only smooth functionality in applications under temperature loads of hundreds of degrees Celsius, but they also represent an additional safety factor in aerospace with their very good low-temperature properties. They also offer safety with a high chemical resistance so that they are not an additional risk in contact with other chemicals.
